Walking in NYFW

Feb. 7th, 2026

About the Event

“‘Perceptions’ is an interdisciplinary performance piece blending dance, costume, and storytelling to explore the fluid nature of human perception. Told entirely from the first person perspective, the piece unfolds inside the mind of the creator. A lived, vulnerable, and immersive journey through emotions such as anxiety, heartbreak, loss, and healing. The performance is structured in four acts, each symbolizing a different relationship with reality:

-Your reality is not reality

-You are altering your reality

-Your reality is not the only reality

-This time, your reality is reality

These chapters invite the audience into a deeply personal narrative that resonates broadly with the universal human experience.”

Message from Absinthe (aka J.Q. Gagliastro)

Thank you so much for having me in your show, Elias + team. Your story is truly inspiring and moving, and my heart goes out to you. Thank you for trusting me with such a fabulous piece of art too. As a fashion girlie, seeing the details of each piece up close was such a treat! Thank you again for giving me this experience and a new reality ;)

ps. The venue Judson Memorial felt like kismet. The windows were adorned with portraits of literary icons (i.e. Octavia E. Butler, James Baldwin, and bell hooks.) I felt at home, especially since Butler’s Parable of the Sower was a major inspiration for my book The Diary of a Sugarbaby.
